Start:
1.
Click the "FreePPP" icon in the top
right hand corner of your screen (a little blue
phone).
2. From the drop down menu select "Open FreePPP
Setup". 
If you cannot see the bottom half of this window, click
the small blue arrow in the bottom left hand corner.
The general tab should appear the same as the picture
above.
3. Click on the "Accounts" tab. 
4.
Select the account you are connecting to, then click "Edit".
Make
sure it is on Connect: directly and your User
name and Password are both entered in lower
case.
5. Click on the "Dialup" tab. 
Make
sure the area code is your local STD code, and phone
number is correct for your local TSN
server.
6. Click on the "Options" tab. 
Make
sure all the settings appear empty or as zero's.
7. Click "OK" and it will take you back
to FreePPP Setup.
8. Click on the "Locations" tab. 
9.
Select the location you are dialing from and click "Edit".
Make
sure all the fields are empty and the drop down menu
say's Do nothing.
10. Click "OK".
11. Click on the "Modems" tab. 
12.
Select the modem settings you are using and click "Edit".
Make
sure the correct port is selected.
Port speed should 38400 unless you have a 56k modem in
which case select 57600.
Flow control should be CTS & RTS (DTR).
Only Speaker enabled and Hang up on disconnect
should be checked.
The INIT string should be on Auto detect.
You should now be able to successfully connect
